  • What is a Moke?
    "Moke" refers to a small, open-air, lightweight vehicle. The original Mini Moke was designed in the 1960s. It was initially intended for military use but became popular as a recreational vehicle, especially in warm climates.
  • What are your rental rates?

  • What is your cancellation policy?
    7+ days prior to reservation: A full refund is available minus a $25 processing fee 4-6 days prior to reservation: A 50% refund is available minus $25 processing fee 0-3 days prior to reservation: Refunds are not available We reserve the right to cancel any rental at any time due to conditions deemed unsafe.
  • Who can rent a Moke?
    All drivers must be at least 25 years old, and possess a valid U.S. driver's license and a personal auto insurance policy. We require renters who will be driving the vehicle to upload proof of a U.S drivers license and auto insurance when completing the rental agreement form to confirm your reservation, and we will also check drivers licenses and auto insurance documents on site when you pick up your Moke rental. Please ensure you bring these documents with you.
  • How does insurance work for Moke rentals?
    Your primary auto insurance is the listed primary insurance during your rental.
  • What is the driving range for the Moke?
    When fully charged, the Moke can travel up to 40 miles or 8 hours. However, please remember that factors like passenger weight and terrain will affect your actual mileage. Your Moke comes with a standard 110v plug in charger and extension cord, so you can plug it into any household outlet when you are not driving it. The Moke can be fully charged from empty in about 6-8 hours.
  • Where am I allowed to drive the Moke?
    Mokes are low speed vehicles (LSVs) and can only be driven on roads with speed limit of 35 mph or less. You will receive a map to reference during your rental that shows where you can and cannot drive the Moke along Jupiter and Juno beach. If renters drive the Moke on prohibited roads, you will receive a citation from law enforcement, are subject to a $250 fine from Beachside Buggies, and your rental will be terminated immediately.
  • How many people fit in the Moke?
    The Moke has seatbelts for 4 people. Children under the age of 3 are required to ride in a car seat which can easily be strapped in to the back seat of any Moke car. Children 4 and up must sit in their own seat with a seat belt, booster seat is recommended but not required. Children are prohibited to ride on adult’s lap.
  • How fast does the Moke go?
    Mokes are considered low speed vehicles (LSVs), and have a maximum speed of 25 mph and may only be driven on roads with maximum limit of 35 mph or less.
  • What if I get in an accident with my rented Moke?
    If you experience an accident during you rental, the driver should call 911. Be sure to report the accident to your insurance company and Beachside Buggies immediately.
  • What if I get a flat tire?
    There is a spare tire on the back of your Moke. You are responsible for changing a flat tire before returning your Moke rental and notifying the Beachside Buggies team.
  • What if my Moke battery dies during my rental?
    All rentals come with a power cord to keep the Moke charged throughout your rental, and we recommend always plugging the Moke in when it's not in use to ensure the battery does not get too low. Please find the nearest 110 outlet to charge your Moke. If you are unable to charge it and the Moke battery dies while in use, please call a tow service to return the Moke to the pick-up location to charge. The renter is financially liable for towing services.
  • Additional Rental Rules
    No smoking in or around vehicles No driving under the influence No open containers All passengers must use seatbelts while vehicle is in motion No pets are permitted inside the vehicle Drivers must adhere to all posted road signs and regulations. Mokes can only drive on roads with speed limits of 35 mph and under, and Mokes are never permitted on sidewalks or offroad. Only licensed drivers listed in the rental agreement and covered by your insurance policy are aloud to drive. Renter is liable for all drivers and damages. Drivers are prohibited from using cellphones while operating a Moke Do not place items such as chairs, umbrellas, coolers on the roof of the Moke Renters are financially responsible for any Moke damage that occurs during the rental period. Beachside Buggies reserves the right to charge the renter's payment method on file for any damage. Ripped Seats $400-$800, New Rim/Tire $200, Scratched Rims $50, Broken Tail lights or headlights $69-$100, Radio $500, Heavy Stains $100+, Scratches $150 per 0-1ft., Dents/Body Damage $150-$1000+, Windshield $600, Batteries $275 each. Dirty Cart Cleaning Fee $50 (garbage, light stains, spilled drinks, heavy sand, etc.) Mokes can be sprayed down inside and out with water hose for quick cleaning!
